Your role is to manage the marketing agenda for some of our key strategic development markets and we’ll look to you to provide clear strategic thinking behind long-term marketing plans that will ensure that the Twinings and Ovaltine brands continue to go from strength-to-strength. You’ll also lead the effective use of research and insight generation to enable us to shape future new product development strategies and continuously improve our communication effectiveness.
A bit about the job
In conjunction with the Marketing Director, lead the strategic thought process in the areas that will drive differentiation of our brands in all our key and development markets in particular: communication, media, NPD and research.
Support and challenge the Marketing Team to create and build on strong brand positioning, insightful communication platforms and appropriate creative work across the brands, ensuring that best in class strategic thinking is deployed behind the key brand issues.
Define what our longer term (12 months +) new product development strategy will be on both Twinings and Ovaltine brands ensuring a clear and planned NPD pipeline and co-ordinated multi-market implementation.
Shape the strategic planning framework (process, templates, and timescales) that will guide the commercial and marketing teams in both the 5 year planning process and budget plans. Co-ordinate the teams to deliver plans which are built on well thought out brand strategies & imperatives with actionable initiatives.
Ensure that the International Markets brand and market strategies are fully synergistic at a brand level and powerfully implemented to ensure consistency and efficient resource deployment.
About the person
We’re looking for an established marketing professional, with a proven FMCG background. You bring experience of developing advertising and communications campaigns, leading research and uncovering insights as well as exceptional strategic thinking. This will be matched with plenty of ambition, and the credibility to enable you to seamlessly make the step-up into this key international role. Equally important is the cultural awareness and diplomacy that will ensure you are able to engage with a range of audiences and stakeholders.
