Our strategy

We may be part of a large, international group of companies, but we follow our own path. Our smaller size, compared to our competitors, is a big operational advantage, freeing us to act as a dynamic, entrepreneurial business. Unhampered by bureaucracy, our strategies are highly competitive, based on local conditions, creative marketing and brand investment. This enables us to be more agile and more flexible, to have ideas and to drive them forward in a fast-changing global marketplace.

The scope of our business has expanded somewhat since 1706, we merged with Ovaltine back in 2002 and we’re now the world’s second largest producer of tea. The business is known today as Twinings Ovo, and is part of the larger organisation, Associated British Foods (ABF).


The group is a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £13.3 billion and 113,000 employees in 47 countries.


We’re a dynamic business, committed to quality products and ethical trading. We believe in doing things differently, challenging the status quo and innovating – just as our founder Thomas Twining did over 300 years ago.
