The Central Finance team is looking for a Financial Operations Manager to maintain the regulatory accounting framework and control environment for the UK legal entities with specific responsibility for all statutory issues including preparation and filing of statutory accounts, compliance with all current direct and indirect tax legislations (VAT, Employment tax and support to ABF for corporation tax matters) and maintenance of appropriate accounting records.
 
About the role
  • You will be responsible to review and sign off UK VAT return, UK VAT accounting, process and compliance along with the VAT reconciliation accounting for both the UK and a number of other international sites.
  • You will be responsible for completing the annual Senior Accounting Officer questionnaire and implementation of associated actions.
  • You will prepare, review and sign off the annual PSA return.
  • You will maintain all supporting documentation in calculation of R Twining and Company Limited for CT and assist in the year-end calculation of Corporation Tax.
  • You will manage, update and ensure that the Financial Controls Matrix is up to date and the company processes are in compliance with FCFQ controls
  • You will comply with the Central Finance Team’ month end close process which involves the consolidation of RTUK balance sheet in PAL, revaluation of foreign currency balances and explanation of large variances, incentive accruals, workings and postings, intercompany balance issue resolution and royalty management fee accruals and invoicing.
  • You will undertake the role of Business Unit Champion which involves attending relevant meetings to discuss community of practice developments along initiating, implementing and testing changes required to HQ SAP instance
  • You will supervise two direct reports and act as a leader, coach and motivator in order to facilitate their development
  • You will have full responsibility over the completion of statutory accounts of R Twining and Company Limited to include liaison with external auditors, company directors, ABF tax, Co sec and Central Finance
  • You will have responsibility over forecasting and budgeting the HQ balance sheet along with consolidating other business units’ forecasts.
  • You will be the main point of contact for business queries on the subject of anti-bribery and corruption, providing training to all new starters
 
About you
  • You will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • You will be experienced in producing Statutory Accounts for medium/large size companies under IFRS
  • You will have good technical accounting knowledge and VAT/indirect tax knowledge
  • You will be self-motivated with a desire to progress and develop your career.
  • You will take full ownership and accountability of the role.
  • Although SAP and ERP experience is not essential, you should have a general understanding of them
  • You will ideally have people management experience
  • You will have an advanced level of Microsoft Excel knowledge
