An exciting new role has become available for an NPD Quality and Food Safety Manager to bring greater quality assurance understanding to the Twinings NPD team in order to support the development and delivery of new and innovate products to the market. The role will support decision making in the areas of quality assurance and food safety policy, as well as raw material and product technical standards. Specific emphasis will be on facilitating the launch of healthy new beverages by recommending and facilitating robust new product tests and processes.

Within the role, you will:

  • Ensure the design and development of safe new products for the anticipated target populations.

  • Provide the business with scientifically valid and relevant advice on toxicology risk assessment and identification and characterisation of chemical hazards in foods.

  • Ensure that new products meet compositional requirements to meet relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Provide accurate and relevant technical information for internal colleagues, customers and consumers within a service level agreement, especially in the areas of new product development.

  • Identify and evaluate potential new technologies to help mitigate food fraud risk in raw material supply sources.

  • Be responsible for monitoring and running project laboratory expenditure against budget through the year.

About you

  • You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a relevant pharmaceutical or food manufacturing industry, ideally within the field of tea, herbal/fruit infusions and flavourings or beverages.

  • You will have at least 2 years’ experience in chemical, packaging or product risk assessment, or regulatory toxicology.

  • You will be competent with numerical/technical data, with a good knowledge of quality systems such as SAP and LIMS.

  • You will have a good knowledge of quality processes and food safety management systems, including HACCP experience.

  • You will have literacy research and laboratory research skills, and the ability to communicate scientific information to all levels of role.
